One day in the mountains of China I was exploring a remote and beautiful stream. At a particularly scenic and peaceful spot I saw a well worn bamboo chair just asking a tired hiker to take a rest. It was simple and very comfortable. I am told it is a traditional chair, made for centuries and used widely in rural homes. It is designed for indoor or outdoor use as it has no hardware of any kind. It's picture is below as well as pictures of our chairs. Our chairs are exact copies but scaled up about 25% as Americans are a little bigger than the average Chinese. |
This is the original chair that inspired the traditional line of furniture. It was found at a particularlly scenic spot along a mountain stream. |
